Leadership and Change Management in Family Businesses
Course Description
Very often business success is attributed to effective management of production, R & D, marketing and finance. Leadership is just treated as one of those “nice things” to talk about. This course aims to give family members a deeper understanding and appreciation of the strategic value of leadership in organizations. More and more, we realize that effective people leadership is at the heart of a business’s productivity and sustainability into the future. And this course does not come at a better time than now when unprecedented radical changes have wreaked havoc on the lives of people, societies, businesses and economies on a global scale.
This course will provide family members the needed knowledge, competencies and attitudes on effective leadership both at the personal and organizational level as well as principles and strategies for successful change management.

Resource Person: Mr. Manolet Siojo
Manolet M. Siojo is a Lecturer with the John Gokongwei School of Management. He has spent the last 20 years teaching Organizational Behavior, Strategic Human Resource Management and Business Ethics. He also served as Chair of the Leadership & Strategy Department for four years and is currently a training consultant with the Business Resource Center.
Manolet obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the Ateneo de Manila University. He took postgraduate studies at the Asian Institute of Management and has been a training/organizational development consultant with various companies. He has also facilitated strategic planning workshops with several family businesses. He is an active member of the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals Community and served as it National President.
